Jimmie W. Edwards was born on February 3, 1945, in Denver, Colorado to the late James and Sena (Huffsmith) Edwards. Jimmie passed away on January 19, 2019, at the age of 73. Jimmie was a phenomenal friend, father, and storyteller who truly embodied the boy scout creed he instilled in countless young people.
Jimmie was a former business owner of Jimmie Edwards Furniture Store in Blytheville for over 40 years, worked with the Boy Scouts for over 57 years, retired from the Ozark Folk Center after 16 years in Mountain View, and worked with KFFB for 16 years.
Jimmie is survived by his children, Cliff and LeAnne Edwards and their boys Brady, age 21, and Tyson, age 17 of Winston-Salem, NC; Kelly Edwards of San Antonio, Texas; and Patrick Edwards of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Delores Shaver of Blytheville, Arkansas; his life partner, Dona Sawyer and her children and grandchildren. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, James, and Sena (Huffsmith) Edwards.
A celebration of life for Jimmie will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 6:00 PM at the Ozark Folk Center large auditorium with Bruce Stevens officiating. Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
