Main Street Farmers Market in Batesville

The Main Street Farmers Market will be open this Saturday, July 12th from 8am to 12 noon in the Pocket Park in Batesville’s Historic Main Street.

This month’s Market will be even bigger with over 15 vendors selling locally grown foods and handmade goods. In addition to locally grown vegetables and pasture raised meats, eggs and cheeses the Market will offer art and jewelry, rustic cedar woodworks, handmade clothing, quilts, and headbands, baked goods and lemonade, jams and jellies, and fresh flowers.

The Market’s fresh summer bounty will also include Cave City watermelons and blackberries and Pleasant Plains blueberries in the blueberry muffins.

Market activities will include a cooking demonstration with the chefs from Bigs Restaurant on Main Street in Batesville at 10am. Find out some of the secrets behind the fabulous sandwiches at Bigs and learn how to make some delicious dishes with the Market vegetables. Danny Dozier will be back playing his acoustic guitar from 9am on. And don’t forget to help your children pick out an old shoe or boot to bring to the Market so they can make a fun planter with Dan Guyette! Yoga is postponed til the August Market when teacher Marnee will bring her yoga class to the Pocket Park at 7am.

Batesville’s Main Street Farmer’s Market is held the second Saturday of each month through November. Join the fun and support your local farmers and artisans this Saturday, July 12th, August 9th, September 13th, October 11th and November 8th, 2014.
