Ozark Foothills Film Fest Free Workshop November 7th-9th-Batesville

Ozark Foothills FilmFest will host a free weekend workshop/training session for filmmakers and others with relevant experience interested in working in the rapidly-expanding field of youth media production on November 7 to 9 in Batesville, Arkansas.  Ozark Foothills FilmFest is the parent organization of the T Tauri Film Festival and Summer Movie Camp.  T Tauri, which takes its name from the astronomer’s term for a new star, was launched in 2005 and takes place in Batesville.  The annual event includes three components: an open, national competition for filmmakers age 18 and under, judged by peer juries of local youth; public screenings of a large number of competition entries from around the country; and workshops in Camcorder Fundamentals, Community Documentary Filmmaking, Script to Screen, and special topics such as Acting on Camera and Animation.  T Tauri also conducts an academic-year session of Community Documentary with area high school students from the Lyon College APPLE Upward Bound Program and hosts the T Tauri Galaxy (www.ttauri.org/galaxy), an online community, resource, and “film school” for young filmmakers. For more information call 870-251-1189 or email ozarkfilm@wildblue.net.  Support for this project is provided by the Arkansas Arts Council and UACCB.
