Melbourne – Ozarka College recently named Public Relations Specialist, Kim Whitten as their 2011 Outstanding Staff.  She will represent Ozarka in that capacity in October at the Arkansas Association of Two-Year College (AATYC) annual conference.

With Ozarka since 2002, Kim’s outstanding work ethic and many talents earned her this honor as a follow-up to selection for Outstanding Staff member in 2004. Ozarka President, Dr. Richard Dawe states, “Kim is an extremely valuable member of the Ozarka College team and continues to have a substantial impact in north-central Arkansas and our state as she serves the higher education mission.  She approaches each task with enthusiasm and professionalism by using her many talents to support innovative marketing strategies, high quality design work, and powerful networking in the community. Kim is highly respected by her colleagues for her helpful and generous nature, and team-oriented spirit.”

Kim is routinely lauded by members of the press and colleagues alike on her professionalism and marketing skills. The countless articles she publishes for the college and foundation serves Ozarka’s students, staff and communities extremely well. With a marketing degree from University of Central Arkansas, Whitten says she enjoys putting her own education to work in the field of higher education. “I feel blessed to contribute to the amazing work Ozarka is doing to live up to its mission of providing life-changing experiences to those in the region and I am humbled to be recognized with this honor.”

Kim and her husband live in Ash Flat. They have three grown children and a new granddaughter. Along with her family, friends and church, Kim’s other interests are her passion of photography and many different crafts.
