Molly Carpenter of Ash Flat has been named director of public relations and marketing at Ozarka College. Most recently, she served as director of the Ozarka College – Ash Flat campus.
Carpenter graduated from Arkansas State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in marketing. She is a 2006 graduate of Highland High School.
“We are excited that Molly will now be serving as director of public relations and marketing,” said Dr. Richard Dawe, college president. “This position will provide Molly with the opportunity to serve Ozarka in a more substantial way as we roll out exciting new programs, facilities and fundraising campaigns. I appreciate her exceptional work the past year as director of the Ash Flat campus and am confident her drive and experience will help the college advance to levels of success.”
During her time at ASU, Carpenter worked at The Herald of Arkansas State University, the university’s newspaper, as senior staff writer, news editor and editor-in-chief. She also completed an internship with University Communications.
In 2011, she interned with Stone Ward, an advertising, marketing and public relations agency with locations in Little Rock and Chicago. She joined Ozarka College as public relations technician in August 2011.
This fall, she will begin pursuing a Master of Business Administration in leadership and ethics at John Brown University’s Little Rock campus.
“I am excited about this opportunity to serve Ozarka College in this capacity,” said Carpenter. “The time spent at our Ash Flat campus allowed me to become so much more familiar with our mission and our students, and that will be a tremendous help as I continue to promote the college. I am also excited to continue my growth as a public relations professional in higher education.”
Ozarka College is a comprehensive technical/community college, with locations in Fulton, Izard, Sharp and Stone counties. The college offers 28 associate degrees, technical certificates and certificates of proficiency, as well as workforce training, continuing education and adult basic education.
