Photographer Barney Sellers Will Be Remembered

 Barney Sellers, who won awards for news photography and known throughout the Mid-South for his outdoor photography. Admirers of his work and former students are in mourning of one of  Americas foremost photographers, Sellers died early Monday at his home in Southaven after an illness. He was 85.

Funeral services for photographer Barney Sellers will be at 3 p.m. on Friday at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardensat 290 Goodman Road East, between Airways and Elmore roads.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

His wide-ranging pictures included a young Elvis Presley, civil rights marches, St. Jude Children’sResearchHospitalfounder Danny Thomas with his visiting celebrity friends and old Mid-South barns.
