Robert Dale announces candidacy for Arkansas State Representative District 68

Robert Dale, a fourth generation Dover native and resident, has announced his candidacy for the 2012 Republican Party Primary for Arkansas State Representative in the newly-formed District 68.

Dale has served in the House of Representatives for the past four years and is seeking re-election for his third and final term.

While serving in the House of Representatives for the past two terms, Dale has served on the Agricultural, Forestry and Economic Development Committee. He serves on the Small Business and Economic Development subcommittee of that committee.

He also serves on the Education Committee of which he is Vice Chairman of the Kindergarten through Twelve subcommittee. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Vocational/Technical Institutions subcommittee.

Dale is currently serving in leadership roles at the will of the Speaker, having been appointed as Vice Chair of Rules Committee and Assistant Pro-Tem this past term.

During the interim between Legislative Sessions, Dale serves on the Arkansas Legislative Council, which oversees the State of Arkansas affairs. He served on the Game & Fish and State Police subcommittee, as well.

During the past session, Dale was asked to serve on a Water Planning Committee that is studying potential improvements for the existing State water plan, originally  created in 1957. He has shown a special interest in the most efficient use of one of Arkansas’ Natural Resources – water. As a result, he sponsored several bills during the 88th General Assembly concerning water issues.

Throughout Dale’s tenure he has remained true to his core beliefs:

• Additional education advances for our youth are vital for not only their future but also the future of Arkansas.

• The economic and social development of Arkansas depends on our ability to keep our children and grandchildren within the Arkansas borders.

• The overall economic and social development of Arkansas also depends upon the quality of leadership.

Locally educated through the Dover Public Schools and Arkansas Tech University, Robert Dale has made his career in the banking industry for the past 33 years.  In February, 2011, Dale retired from the banking industry to afford himself with more than ample time to perform the duties of State Representative in a full-time capacity.

Robert Dale is a family man who believes in family values. He has been married for 44 years. He and his wife, LaWanda, have raised two sons and now enjoy four grandchildren. A long-time member of Dover First Baptist Church, Dale also serves in various capacities to support his church.
