Sharon Draper to continue Harding University’s Young Adult Author Series Jan 25-26

The Graduate Reading Program of Harding University will present its second Young Adult Author Series program Jan. 25-26, featuring award-winning author, educator, speaker and poet Sharon Draper.

 Draper, author of“Out of My Mind,” is a professional educator and writer. She has been honored as National Teacher of the Year, is a five-time winner of the Coretta Scott King Literary Awards, and has been named a New York Times best-selling author. She has published poems, articles and short stories in literary journals and has visited students and teachers internationally to encourage and empower listeners on the excellence of education.

 The series will include a Friday night meal, a Saturday morning continental breakfast, and an author information packet. The events will also provide graduate credit hours. Event prices include $125 for one event and $100 for two events. In order to receive three hours of graduate credit, an additional $350 is requested and attendance of at least three events.

 Chris Crutcher, author of the recently published “Angry Management,” will speak in February. The series will conclude in April with Newberry Honor Award-winning Cynthia Lord, author of “Rules” and “Touch Blue.”
