Senator Mark Pryor made the following statement on the death of Lance Corporal Irvin M. Ceniceros from Clarksville, AR, who died while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Lance Corporal Ceniceros was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team-2, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force FWD, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, CA.

Today I extend my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Lance Corporal Irvin M. Ceniceros, who sacrificed his life defending our freedom.  Lance Cpl. Ceniceros was deployed in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province, a region at the epicenter of the war on terror.  The danger was high, but Lance Cpl. Ceniceros never hesitated when duty called. He served our nation with honor and dedication, and is a true American hero.

I join all Arkansans in lifting up Lance Cpl. Cenicero’s family and friends during this heartbreaking time.  We will never forget his courage and valor, and may we always honor the life he gave for our country.
