Stone County Sheriffs Foundation Raffle

The foundation and everything behind it is to help the Stone County Sheriffs deputies who risk their lives on a daily basis and to help keep our community safer. The foundations board of directors is composed of various members of the community who will ensure all donations are used in the best and effective way possible to achieve their mission as a foundation. Stone County is 609 square miles with a population of 12,500 supported by the Stone County Sheriff department consisting of one elected Sheriff, one chief deputy, five deputies, one K9 deputy, two detectives and eight full-time jailers. Stone County Sheriff’s foundation will play an important role in seeking funds for Law Enforcement programs and projects in a low generating rural tax revenue county, because the sheriff department and employees cannot solicit or accept funds or favors from private individuals or organizations without compromising their impartiality.

The Stone County Sheriff’s Foundation is classified as a public charity with the IRS. We are exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c) (3). Donors can deduct contributions they make to us under IRC Section 170. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106 or 2522.

THIS FOUNDATION HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH ANY OTHER COUNTY AGENCY/COURTS. ALL PROCEEDS DIRECTLY BENEFIT STONE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT.

The Stone County Sheriff Foundation’s mission is to support a Sheriff’s department directly with resources to augment its services to the public. Donations will fund a range of vital purchases and innovative programs, including
• Acquiring essential equipment such as Vehicles, bullet-resistant vests, computers, and digital cameras
• Supporting police-sponsored youth programs
• Contributing to the education and training of police officers and supervisors
• Helping to maintain officer health, from in-house gyms to suicide prevention
• Funding reward programs and other citizen awareness and participation efforts
