Temporary Closure of Razorback Greenway Trail Sections in Springdale and Lowell

Crews constructing the future U.S. Highway 412 bypass requires sections of the Razorback Greenway Trail to be temporarily closed in Springdale and Lowell, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will be restoring the Razorback Greenway Trail to its pre-construction location, which requires trail closures Monday, February 26 through Friday, March 16. The closed sections are located:

Parallel to Silent Grove Road near Charismatic Avenue in north Springdale
On South Goad Springs Street under Interstate 49 near Burrell Place in Lowell

Those using the trail are encouraged to avoid these areas due to construction activities during typical working hours. Trail traffic proceeding through work zones along active roadways should walk through with caution and be aware of vehicle, trail, and construction traffic. Warning signs and barricades will be in place to communicate the trail’s closures.

This project (Job CA0907) is part of ArDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program. The contractor is constructing approximately four miles of the new four-lane U.S. Highway 412 Northern Bypass, which extends from Interstate 49 to State Highway 112. The project is expected to be completed mid-2018 and will provide a principal east-west route north of the Springdale Metropolitan Area.
