White County Medical Center hosted a tour for Kindergarten students from McRae Elementary School in Searcy. The group of 140 students visited the hospital as part of Community Helpers week. WCMC nurses and associates taught the children about the importance of several jobs within the hospital including performing x-rays, administering shots and listening to a heartbeat.

The students also visited the Emergency Department trauma room to learn how physicians and nurses help people when they are hurt. Paramedics from NorthStar EMS concluded the tour with an up-close look at an ambulance and lesson on dialing 911.
