A $500,000.00 bond was set October 8, 2010 in Faulkner County Circuit Court for James Holian, who is charged with 4 counts of First Degree Murder as a result of the fatal car crash that occurred September 12, 2010 near Vilonia.
The State requested a bond of $500,000.00 for each count of murder. Counsel for the defendant argued that the State had overcharged in this case and a $25,000.00 bond was sufficient. The court disagreed.
Circuit Judge Charles Clawson felt a single bond of $500,000.00 was sufficient to secure the appearance of the defendant in court.
“We felt our request for bond was reasonable under the circumstances of the case. We respect Judge Clawson’s decision and are pleased that he disagreed with the argument presented by the defense counsel.” said Twentieth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Marcus Vaden.
