Conway Area Chamber Annual Meeting Award Nominations needed

Conway Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize outstanding individuals and businesses during its 2010 Annual Meeting, which will be held on March 4. Please read the Important Information and Rules section for information on nominating an outstanding individual or business that has had a favorable impact on Conway. Nominations must be received by 3:00pm on February 19.

Summary of Awards

Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award was inaugurated in 1957 as the Chamber’s highest form of recognition. This award is presented annually to an individual or group who has rendered special service for the benefit of the community. Candidates have demonstrated an active leadership role for the betterment of the community through involvement in one or more of the following: business, civic and social service organizations.

Good Neighbor Award
The Good Neighbor Award was inaugurated in 1973. This award is presented annually to an individual who has given of his or her time and talents. Candidates are known for going above and beyond the call of duty to help others. The nominee shall exemplify outstanding public service to the Conway area.

Get Smart.Go Green Award
The Get Smart.Go Green award was first presented to the City of Conway Sanitation Department for their leadership in this area. This award is presented to a business or organization that is committed to “green” initiatives. The nominee will have made a commitment to recycling and utilizing environmentally friendly products. The award recognizes those who have made a commitment to fostering the sustainability of the environment through green practices thus impacting the quality of life in Conway.

Business of the Year
Business of the Year is presented as the premier honor to the best overall business in Conway. The award recognizes businesses for their continued growth, innovation and community involvement. Business of the Year will be presented in four categories:

1. Businesses with over 500 employees.
2. Businesses with 100 – 500 employees.
3. Businesses with 25 – 99 employees.
4. Business with 24 or less employees.

Business Executive of the Year
Business Executive of the Year is presented to the owner, executive or president of a business. The focus of this award is to recognize those persons in our community who have displayed outstanding performance in either an individual or collaborative endeavor. This award recognizes the individual who is a driving force behind the company. This person works to maintain an enriched business climate and an enhanced quality of life in Conway.

Young Business Leader
Young Business Leader is presented to a community business leader who is 40 years of age or younger. This award recognizes one young professional for helping to create a more vibrant business and social environment for all of Conway’s residents.

Important Information and Rules
With the exception of Distinguished Service Award and Good Neighbor Award, all nominees must be a member in good standing of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce.

A Chamber Member may nominate his or her business for an award.

Nominations must be accompanied by a typed justification to be eligible for consideration. Please include the following information in your justification.

1. Nominee Name, Address, Phone Number and Email
2. Category For Which Nominee is Nominated
3. Professional and Personal Accomplishments
4. Community Service
5. Other Memberships, Achievements, and Awards
6. Chamber of Commerce Activity
7. In your own words, explain how this nominee provides valuable service and helps to improve the quality of life for others in the community.

All typed entries must be received by no later than 3:00 pm on Friday, February 19.

Judging
Conway Area Chamber of Commerce will select impartial representatives to serve as judges. All winners and entries will be left to the discretion of the judges and all decisions are final.
