Coparenting / Blended Family / Divorce Conference

November 9, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Did you know that “divorce or parental separation” are officially counted as ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences)? Our family court system was never designed to deal with the mountain of coparenting problems it faces, and often parents are set up to be adversaries, instead of parenting partners. Did you know that one of the main things children and parents deal with that often goes unnoticed in these situations, is grief? What children learn today in these situations, they will take with them into adulthood and their own relationships.

You weren’t born with a “101” manual in your hand. Most of us in this journey had the best of intentions and learned only after making mistakes. Those mistakes can hurt our children. Come to a dynamic conference that can help you weather the turbulent journey of divorce, coparenting, and blended families. This half-day event, giving you effective, time-tested tools for a lifetime, will educate and inform, encourage and help.

Here are just a few prevalent pointers that keep even the most well-intentioned, loving coparents and blended families struggling, again and again –

• Competition over cooperation – Competing only puts the children in the middle. “Divorce is never over”, so learn powerful methods to create two homes children can easily live in, instead of two war camps.
• The childcentric home – Often out of a sense of misplaced guilt, letting the children drive the new remarriage.
• “The Brady Bunch” – On average, it takes several years, not weeks or months, to gel a blended family, and not every stepfamily is a blended family. We offer proven resources that can bolster success.
• “You split up. Your children never did” – Your child needs, and loves, that other parent – even if you don’t. We’ll show you how to establish boundaries, stay focused and on task, and concentrate on the child’s welfare.

And more. We will cover topics that range from grief, common myths, prevalent pitfalls, communication, boundaries, self-care, effective parenting, stepparent dos and don’ts, navigating two homes. Everything in this conference is research-based, and is recommended by some of the nation’s most respected experts in blended families, coparenting, divorce, parenting, marriage.
This conference comes complete with learning objectives, an interactive workbook, gift bag, refreshments, comprehensive resources list, and certificate of completion. Attendees also receive a special reduced rate to blended family / coparenting counseling, or Parent Coordination, services at Sincera Wellness, LLC (www.sincerawellness.net), a private practice counseling office specializing in the blended family, divorce, coparenting.
