Join instructor Brandy Boyd for this 2-day workshop in her popular and low-investment Kitchen Table Silversmithing Series. This class is all about making containers in metal – lockets, reliquaries, trinket boxes and hollow forms.
A good foundation in soldering is recommended prior to taking this class as there will be a lot of soldering, and we will begin addressing advanced soldering techniques.
Students can expect to complete at least one project in class. We will cover several techniques for making lockets/boxes/lidded containers, the considerations that must be observed when making hollow formed shapes (and sealed reliquaries) and how to embellish these items successfully. Students comfortable with stone setting are welcome to bring stones to set on their pieces and any sterling or fine silver embellishments can be brought to class for the student to see if they can be added.
Tuition: $120.00
Materials Fee: varies, the average is $70 will calculate at class (due at the beginning of class)
