AASU-Beebe will welcome two-time Grammy winner Laurence Juber to the stage for a free lecture at 12:30 p.m. and a concert that evening at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, as part of the ASU-Beebe 2019-2020 Lecture-Concert Series.
Guitarist Laurence Juber is a solo performer, recording artist, composer, and arranger. First internationally recognized as lead guitarist in Beatle Paul McCartney’s Wings, with whom he won a Grammy, Juber has since established himself as world-renowned guitar virtuoso and entertainer. In addition, Juber’s lecture “History of the Fingerstyle Guitar” focuses on the dominant technique for fretted instruments since the mid-15th century. The technique offers a loping melody with a simultaneous descending bass line.
The lecture is free admission and open to the public. Ticket prices for the concert are $10 for general admission, and $5 for military, seniors, and students under 18 years of age. Tickets are available online at https://asub.ticketleap.com/, or visit the Institutional Advancement office (located in the Ruth Couch Building on the Beebe campus), or by calling 501-882-8855 or at the door one hour before showtime.
