Democratic challenger Lance Bonds has defeated incumbent Todd Hudspeth in the Democratic Primary Special Election for Stone County Sheriff.
With all precincts reporting, Bonds received 1,950 votes to 1,555 for Hudspeth.
It was the third time voters cast votes in the race, after the first primary went to a run-off, and the two men tied in that run-off., and then special election was called for by Governor Mike Beebe at the request of the Democratic Party.
Democratic nominee Lance Bonds will face off against the Republican nominee, Russ Aiken on the November ballot.
