Lincoln, Pryor, Snyder Announce $1.3 Million for Conway Municipal Airport

Washington – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) today announced that Conway Municipal Airport will receive $1,347,620 to complete land acquisition for construction of its new airport. The new, replacement airport will enhance both safety and capacity for travelers who fly in and out of Conway Municipal Airport, which is constrained by Interstate I-40 on the east and residential development on the west, south, and north sides.

“These funds will help enhance safety and security of air travel to Conway while also boosting the local economy. I’m pleased to see Conway receive this assistance, and I’ll continue to fight for Arkansas resources and priorities,” said Lincoln.

“Safe and reliable transportation infrastructure is a critical component to economic development in Arkansas,” said Pryor. “Investing these federal dollars in Conway Municipal Airport will benefit local businesses and residents alike.”

“Conway is such a great and vibrant community.  The ongoing work on this airport project continues the progress in Conway and Faulkner County,” said Snyder.
