One tornado affected areas from around Center Ridge (Conway County) to Damascus (Van Buren County) and Greers Ferry (Cleburne County). The tornado caused extensive structural damage, with Highway 65 closed for a time due to debris in the road. As of 2 pm CDT on the 2nd, seven deaths were reported across the state. In addition to tornadic storms, flooding rain occurred in some areas. Ironically, the heaviest rain fell in portions of northern Conway, southern Van Buren and Cleburne Counties…or where some of the worst tornado damage occurred.
