Bring your friends to the Ozark Folk Center this February 18-20 for the Cozy Comfort Quilt Retreat and piece together an unforgettable vacation. We are happy to send information by mail, just call 870-269-3851 to request the Quilt Retreat mailing. Register for the class of your choice when you register for the retreat.
The retreat package includes classes, lodging, breakfast and lunch. The cost of the retreat is $199 per person/double occupancy. There’s still time to register for the Cozy Comfort Quilt Retreat, February 18-20 at the Ozark Folk Center. The registration deadline is Feb. 10.
Lodging and Meals
While you are attending the retreat you will be staying in the comfortable Cabins at Dry Creek at the Ozark Folk Center. Each room has two queen-sized beds and a beautiful view of the surrounding forest. The cost of the retreat is based on double occupancy, so grab your quilting friends and join the fun. Breakfast and lunch will be served by the Skillet Restaurant staff in the park. Our staff is famous for their down home southern cooking, but they are also fix wonderful meals for diabetic, vegetarian or other diets. Let us know your needs when you register.
Schedule
The retreat will begin at noon with a meet and greet lunch on Thursday, Feb. 18. That will give you time to travel and check into your room in the morning. We’ll have class from 1-5 and go out to dinner at 5:30. For dinner we will be going as a group to restaurants in Mountain View. This will give you a chance to see some of the surrounding area during the retreat. The cost of dinner is not included in the retreat package.
After dinner, there is time to socialize and show-and-tell or work on quilts in your classrooms in the park Administration building. Last year almost everybody wanted to sew and visit until almost 10:00 p.m.
In the morning, continental breakfast will be from 7-8:45 in the Skillet. Classes will start at 9:00 and you’ll quilt away to 12:00. Lunch is from 12:00 to 1:00, soup and sandwiches at the Skillet. Then it’s back to work in your classrooms. There will be an optional shopping tour to downtown Mountain View’s two quilt shops and Craft Guild Gallery in the afternoon. Again, dinner will be in town, either as a group or on your own.
The Ozark Folk Center craft village is closed for the season, however it is still a wonderful place to walk and stretch and enjoy the winter peace of the gardens. You are welcome to take breaks to walk in the village or get together as a group for a guided tour.
On Saturday, continental breakfast will be from 7-8:45 in the Skillet. Classes will start at 9:00 and wrap up by 12:00. Lunch will be served from 12:00 to 1:00. After lunch we’ll gather in the lobby for show and tell, group photos, hugs and goodbyes. Those who have to travel will be able to head out by 2:00 p.m.
