Tim Griffin statement on 145th Anniversary of Juneteenth

LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today issued the following statement to commemorate the 145th Anniversary of Juneteenth:

“Juneteenth marks a day when America took another step toward becoming a ‘more perfect union’ as former slaves were given their freedom and the opportunity to realize the American Dream for themselves. As we mark the 145th anniversary of General Granger’s order to the people of Galveston, Texas, and celebrate the abolition of slavery, we should also reflect on the ideals and values that are common to all Americans and make our nation exceptional.”
