North Central Arkansas Foundation for the Arts & Education (NCAFA&E) and United Way will present the Van Buren Community Band in concert Sunday, November 2, at 3:00 P.M. at the Shirley Auditorium. The band is composed of professional musicians and talented amateurs from Clinton, Bee Branch, Greenbrier, Marshall, Leslie, St. Joe, and Fairfield Bay. The band is under the direction of Dell Holt.
Their selections will include patriotic music, standards, show tunes, Dixieland, Big Band, and ragtime with several guest conductors.
Hannah Cruse will open the performance as the guest student performer. Hannah began her musical career with the Central Arkansas Home School Band as a clarinetist and at age 12 began to play the oboe. She has successfully competed on the national level and was awarded a scholarship to attend Interlochen this past summer. This talented 14 year old is a member of the Van Buren Community Band and regularly performs with the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra.
