100th Anniversary of the National Park System in Marshall

You are invited! For the 100th Anniversary of the National Park System, there will be an Ozark Folklife Festival this year at Tyler Bend north of Marshall! The Ozark Folklife Festival will be held on Saturday, 1 October to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the National Park Service, promote heritage tourism in northwest Arkansas, and fortify the existing partnerships between the National Park Service, the Greater Searcy County Chamber of Commerce, the Buffalo National River Partners, and the Arkansas Master Naturalists. The festival will highlight and promote the unique Ozark heritage of northwest Arkansas and provide recreational and educational opportunities for visitors of all ages from both urban and rural areas. In addition, the festival will take place in a natural setting on the banks of the Buffalo River at Tyler Bend, offering opportunities for outdoor recreation such as hiking, camping, and floating. The one-day festival will highlight traditional Ozark crafts, cooking, music, dance, and pioneer life skills such as blacksmithing, pottery, basketry, soap making, etc.
