2nd Friday Features Randy and Stephanie Wade Band

The 2nd Friday Wander and Wonder Walk movies into the cold weather months in November, so outside events in the Pocket Park have been suspended until spring.  Music will continue, however, at two popular venues, the Simply Southern Playhouse and MorningSide Coffeehouse.

Simply Southern Playhouse at Main and Broad will feature the Randy and Stephanie Wade Band. Admission is $5/$2 for children 12 and under. Concessions are available for purchase.  The popular venue seats about 120, so plan to arrive early to avoid disappointment

MorningSide Coffeehouse at 616 Harrison Street will continue its popular Open Mike format from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Admission is free. Coffee, tea, and baked goods are available for purchase.  Musicians looking to perform are welcome.

Cathy Demko, an artist from Hardy, will provide a painting demonstration at the Batesville Area Arts Council from 6:30-7:30. Cathy is currently featured in Who’s Who is America and juried in the 2009 Arkansas Governor’s Mansion Engagement Calendar, publishing “Eagle Dancing.” Senator Mark Pryor asked for the painting to be exhibited in his office for several months. Her painting, “Round Bustle Dancer.” was hung for three months at the Governor’s Mansion. Her recent portrait of Governor Beebe was recently presented to him and is now part of the permanent collection at the Mansion. Cathy’s body of work will be on exhibition in Santa Fe, NM this winter. Many Main street merchants will remain open until 8:00 P.M.   The 2nd Friday Downtown Wander and Wonder Walk is a project of Main Street Batesville in cooperation with the Batesville Area Arts Council and participating merchants.
