5th Annual BAAC National Juried Exhibition

The Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery on Main is proud to host the 2017 BAAC National Juried Exhibition from April 25 through June 10, 2017. The exhibition consists of 22 pieces from 16 artists across the United States, seven of which are Arkansas artists. The Arkansas artists included are Benjamin Elton (Batesville), Marlie Allgood (Cabot), Erik Rivera (Conway), Win Bruhl (Little Rock), Dennis McCann (Maumelle), Neal Harrington and Sigrid Lorfing (Russelville). Please join us for the awards reception Friday, April 28 from 5 – 7 p.m. during the art walk on Main Street. This year’s juror, Dayton Castleman, is a Rogers, Arkansas based artist who manages 21c Museum in Bentonville. A New Orleans native, Dayton received his BA in drawing and painting from Belhaven University, and his MFA in sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was Assistant Professor of Art and chair of sculpture at Trinity Christian College in Chicago before relocating to Arkansas where he taught as a Museum Educator at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. He is a recipient of an Arkansas Arts Council Individual Artist Grant, and he has permanent, site-specific installations in Philadelphia, PA and Bentonville, AR. His artwork has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States and Europe.
