Arkansas April 4th Storm Damages Update



North Little Rock, Ark. – The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) is monitoring the severe weather activity of April 4 and continuing. At this time there have been reports of 4 injuries and several homes and other buildings damaged.

 Breakout by county:

 Arkansas County

ADEM Area Coordinator reported nine homes with minor damage and five homes with major damage. Hwy 63 is blocked due to power lines and trees down.  There are no injuries reported at this time.

 Clark County

Clark County Emergency Management has reported multiple power lines and trees down with city wide power outages in and around the City of Gurdon.  Several county roads are blocked. One home has been reported with major damage at 611 Maple Street in Gurdon.  At this time there are no injuries.

 Cleburne Co

Cleburne County Emergency Management has reported that the roof was blown off of F.L. Davis Builders Supply at the 1900 block of Hwy 25 B in Heber Springs.  There are no injuries reported at this time.

 Columbia County

Columbia County Emergency Management has reported trees and power lines down at the 600 block of CR 148 near Magnolia. One mobile home and one home have damage. There are no reported injuries at this time.

 Crittenden County

Crittenden County Emergency Management has reported multiple county roads blocked due to downed trees near the Horseshoe Lake area. No damages and no injuries have been reported at this time.

 Hempstead County

Hempstead County Emergency Management has reported major damages to one home and four chicken houses near of Hwy 371 east of Blevins. There are numerous county roads blocked due to downed trees. Two minor injuries were transported by personal vehicle to a local hospital. 

 Jefferson County

Jefferson County Emergency Management has reported major damage to one house at 2211 S. Bay Street and one house off of Jericho Road in Pine Bluff.  There are multiple power lines and trees down across the city.  One injury has been reported.

 Lee County

Marianna Fire Department has reported major damage to a structure at Witten Elementary School as well as two businesses off of Main Street.  Power lines and trees are down blocking Hwy 1 Business South as well as multiple city streets. One minor injury has been reported.

 Lincoln County

Lincoln County Emergency Management has reported two homes with major damage, ten homes with minor damage, and minor damage to the fire department in Garret Bride. There are no injuries reported at this time.

 Little River County

Little River County Emergency Management has reported several trees and power lines down in the eastern part of Ashdown. A natural gas pipe line was ruptured due to the trees being uprooted off of Hwy 32 West. Centerpoint Energy has stopped the release and is waiting on trees to be cleared to make repairs to the line. There are no injuries and no evacuations reported at this time. 

 Miller County

Miller County Emergency Management has reported several trees and power lines down. One home is reported damaged near CR 9. There are no injuries at this time.

 Nevada County

Nevada County Emergency Management has reported major damages to three houses and one chicken house near CR 51 in Prescott. One home with major damage has also been reported at 111 Walnut Street in Emmet.  Numerous county roads are blocked due to down trees.  Union Pacific Rail Road has cleared the area where a train was stopped between Emmet and Prescott near CR 51 due to multiple trees down across the tracks. There are no reports of injuries at this time.

 Phillips Co

Phillips County Emergency Management has reported one mobile home on PCR 113 with minor damage and one house near PCR 300 at Hwy 85 with minor damage.  No injuries have been reported at this time.
