INDEPENDENCE COUNTY (8-3) – The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Independence County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials. The purpose of this project is to resurface 1.0 mile of roadway and 0.4 miles of bridge deck
on State Highway 122 starting at State Highway 14 and continuing northward. Asphalt Producers, LLC of Jonesboro was awarded the contract at $474,496.02. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2017.
