Now that the gorgeous fall foliage we had this year is just about gone, we have a different kind of color season taking its place. TheArkansas Trail of Holiday Lights is now available.
Although a few early events have already occurred, the bulk of the festivities began in earnest next week, mostly on Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving.
More than 60 communities around the state are taking part in the Trail this year, offering everything from caroling, tree and town lightings, to open houses, parades and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus. You’ll find information on all of these on the Arkansas Trail of Holiday Lights website. Read about the state’s largest Christmas tree, a 54-foot-behemoth making its debut this year in Conway. Check out the locations where you can go ice skating — Bentonville, Ozark, and Helena-West Helena. Horse-drawn carriages await to transport you in Fayetteville and Historic Washington State Park, while Blytheville offers hay rides — and in Fort Smith, you can board a train to tour a winter wonderland. Wanting to experience a White Christmas? Then head on over to Wild Winter Country at Wild River Country in North Little Rock to experience snow tubing, snowman building, snowball throwing and more, featuring REAL snow.

Printed brochures are available for pick-up at any participating Bank of America, Shell, Subway, and Best Western or any of the 14 Arkansas Welcome Centers.
