Location: the fine Arts Building at the UACCB campus
Description: The Batesville Area Arts Council will be hosting a Papermaking Workshop with artist Chere Taylor on Friday, June 24th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and on Saturday, June 25th from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the fine Arts Building at the UACCB campus. The workshop uses recycled junk mail and other bits of post-consumer waste paper in the papermaking process which participants will be turning into beautiful new sheets of handmade paper. Participants will learn the art of wet embossing, inlaying, and casting. During the workshop, at least six art papers or cards will be created. The Papermaking Workshop will be a hands-on, one and a half day class that is open to anyone at least 12 years of age.

The first day is spent learning how to make pulp and forming several sheets of various papers. The following day will be spent finishing pieces and learning additional techniques of “pulp painting.” The workshop is $50 per person and the only thing participants need to bring is a bath towel.
