ADEM activates State Emergency Operations Center

Arkansas Department of Emergency Management officials have activated the state Emergency Operations Center to monitor and assess severe weather damages across the state.

Overnight storms, including two possible tornadoes, killed two and injured several others. Flooding has impacted numerous roadways, and local emergency managers have reported several instances of stranded motorists and residents.

The activation is of limited scale, and ADEM staff are monitoring events at this time.
