Col. Conrad Reynolds, US Army (Ret), candidate for Arkansas’ Second Congressional District, was awarded a Capitol Citation as a “Life Saver” from the Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin for his actions following a recent car accident near Beebe, AR. On the morning of January 18th 2014, Col. Reynolds was the first on the scene of a roll-over accident which had trapped the driver in a smoking, overturned, vehicle.

The driver, Linda Langford of Batesville, AR, was trapped inside of her vehicle when Col. Reynolds pried the back hatch open and entered the smoking vehicle to get her out. Col. Reynolds, who saw the overturned vehicle on the opposite side of highway 67, stated, “I saw the car flipped over on the side of the road and I said to my friend, ‘Nobody’s stopping to check if anybody is inside,’ so I crossed the highway at the nearest turnaround and went back.”

The victim’s daughter, Christy Spann of East End, AR, stated on Facebook, “Mr. Reynolds noticed her wrecked car while passing by and decided to stop just in case someone was in there. Sure enough, my mom was trapped and there was no way she was climbing out on her own. So I say Thank you from the bottom of my heart for stopping to help her.”
