Ozarka College has hired Typhanie Franke of Batesville as program coordinator for the Early Childhood Development
program.
In this position, Franke will be responsible for developing curriculum for the ECD program, as well as teaching and advising students in the program. She will also teach and provide academic advising for the Associate of Arts in Teaching program at Ozarka College.
Ozarka College offers both certificate of proficiency and technical certificate degree options in early childhood education, providing childcare professionals with the training necessary to meet the educational requirements set by the Early Childhood Commission. The program also serves as a pathway to Ozarka’s Associate of Arts in Teaching program.
Franke began her journey to becoming an educator at Ozarka College as a non-traditional student and single parent. She was able to earn her Associate of Arts and continue on to earn a Bachelor of Science in mid-level education from Arkansas State University and a Master of Science in educational leadership from Grand Canyon University.
In her previous position, Franke was employed as the middle school science instructor for the Cave City School District, as well as an adjunct instructor of teacher education at Ozarka College. She holds both P-12 building administrator certification and mid-level language arts, social studies, math and science certifications.
“Ozarka College gave me the confidence I needed, as well as a firm academic foundation on which I could build,” she said. “I am excited to now have the opportunity to serve in a position guiding Ozarka College students on their voyage into the realm of education.”
She and her husband, Gavin, live in Batesville and have two daughters; Alli and Abri.
