Griffin response to President Obama’s State of the Union address: ‘We Need Bold Ideas’

WASHINGTON – Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) today issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s State of the Union address:

“The President delivered a good speech, but I think I’m going to wait to see what the details of his proposals are. I think about his inaugural speech and what he said about living within our means.  That was before record deficits that added $3 trillion to the debt. The tough part comes with the actual proposals. The challenge we face in terms of the debt is so great that tweaking at the edges is not going to do the trick. We need bold ideas, not only from the President but from the House and Senate.”
