Harding University Hosts Traveling Art Exhibit

Harding University’s art and design department is hosting an art exhibit featuring artists Marvin and Janice Crummer. The exhibit will showcase the couples’ award-winning pieces of their love for water, landscapes, seascapes, people and animals.

Marvin pursued his art education career at Otis Art Institute and Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. He is represented in many private collections throughout the U.S. and received “Best in Show” at the 2006 tri-county art competition in Conway, Ark.

Janice received her art education at California State College and through private instructors. She has a teaching credential in art and taught painting and drawing for 12 years in the Rancho Santiago Community College District of California’s Orange County. Her work is found in corporate and private collections throughout the country and has received honors and awards from juried shows, including “Best in Show” at Conway’s annual tri-county show, awards Maumelle’s Sunday With the Arts, and a purchase award from Regions Bank.

The exhibit will be on display until Feb. 14 in gallery two of the Stevens Art Gallery. The gallery is free to the public and is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact art@harding.edu or 501-279-4426.
