Lincoln acts out of ‘self-preservation’ says candidate Col. Conrad Reynolds

CONWAY – Republican United States Senate candidate Col. Conrad Reynolds (U.S. Army, Ret.) today issued the following statement after today’s votes by Sen. Blanche Lincoln on a public option in the Democratic-backed Senate Finance Committee health care bill:

“After a summer of avoiding Arkansans who made it well known that they oppose the public option, after calling those who dared to question President Obama ‘un-American’ and with a sense of self-preservation, Sen. Lincoln has finally decided to do the right thing.

It is unfortunate that Sen. Lincoln took so long to make this decision. These votes show she operates from a position of political expedience, not one of leadership.

Arkansans need a senator who will restore their voice, because it is clear that Sen. Lincoln only has her political survival in Washington at heart, not Arkansas.”
