Plans are revving up for the 9th Annual Mountains, Music & Motorcycles August 16-18 in Mountain View, with live music, bike show, biker games, poker run, car show and more.
Motorcyclists are encouraged to ride in on Friday and explore the many possible routes that begin and circle back to Mountain View. Vendors will be set up by 4 p.m. The Hippie Holler Band will crank up on the courtsquare at 8 p.m
On Saturday, the entire courtsquare and some auxiliary streets will be devoted to motorcycle parking, biker and food vendors, and games. Registration for all events begins at 8 a.m. Biker games start at 10:30, followed by entertainment featuring the Chrome Biker Chix.
Bike Show is from 8 am to Noon, with people’s choice voting determining winners in classes such as Vintage, Street Stock, Touring and Dressers, Manufactured Custom, Custom Modified, Trike & Sidecars, and Rat. Entry fee is $10 per bike. Winners will be announced at 4:30.
The Bike Show is in the Centennial Bank Parking Lot (Main Street side) while the Car Show is in the bank’s upper deck parking lot (Jefferson Street side).
Participants in the poker run must register prior to the ride out to collect the required trivia. Last bike out at 2pm. The complete poker run route is given to participants at time of payment of registration of $15. The deadline to return is 4 p.m. The Poker Run is sponsored by Arkansas Bikers for Children and proceeds go to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
During the games, riders will demonstrate their timing and control in various games that are challenging to play and amusing to watch. Games are Slow Ride, Granny Pants, Weenie Bite and Balloon Toss.
On Saturday night there will be a dance on the courtsquare beginning at 8 p.m. with music by Danny Dozier & the Lock House Orchestra.
A biker church service will be held Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. on the courtsquare. Free breakfast and blessing of the bikes will take place at 9 a.m.
