Nancy Dust, Executive Assistant to the President at Ozarka College, was recently named vice-chair of the Arkansas Association of Two-Year College’s Board. Elections for the position were held at the organization’s annual conference Oct. 14-16.

Dust, a Bono native, has been with Ozarka College since 2006. She has served as an Administrative Assistant for the Title III grant, and has worked with Planning and Institutional Research and Advancement. Along with her duties in the President’s Office, she has also held the responsibilities of Interim Development Officer.

“I was honored to be selected to serve AATYC as the vice-chair of the Board of Directors,” said Dust. “AATYC is an organization that works with all of the two-year state colleges to provide a united voice in higher education.  I appreciate the opportunity to be involved in this organization and to assist in their goal of supporting the mission of two-year colleges.”

In May 2012, Dust completed the AATYC Leadership Institute, which is designed to identify, develop, prepare, and advance leaders from within Arkansas two-year colleges. Approximately 24 participants from two-year colleges across Arkansas attend each year.

The chair position is a four-year term; she will serve as vice-chair, chair elect, chairman and past chair. Responsibilities include planning and organizing the AATYC annual conference and working collectively with other institutions to advance the community college mission in the state.
