Richard Cahill Account Executive with KFFB 106.1 loses battle with Leukemia passes away at 75

Richard L. Cahill the son of Emer Louis Cahill and Florence M. Douglas Cahill was born in Clarinda, Iowa on May 29, 1939 and passed away on Friday May 15, 2015 at the age of 75.

Richard worked 28 years at Hy-Vee Food Stores, 18 years at Bankers Life and Casualty Company and 14 years at KFFB radio station in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. He and his wife Katherine moved to Fairfield Bay from Cincinnati, Ohio. Richard was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fairfield Bay and he was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and masons and past president of Fairfield Bay Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emer and Florence Cahill, 7 siblings: Patricia Cahill, Eva Foster, Martha Williams, Ralph Cahill, Maxine Peterson, Don Cahill and Katherine Rope. He is survived by his wife Katherine Crawford Cahill of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, two sons Chris Cahill of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Allan Cahill of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, daughter Karen Russell (Robert C. Russell II) of Des Moines, Iowa, grandchildren Katelyn Cahill and Michael Cahill of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Mandy and Jessie Wambold of New Castle, Colorado and Robert C. Russell III of Des Moines, Iowa. He is also survived by one sister Betty Maier of Bountiful, Utah, two sister in law’s Mary Cahill of Omaha, Nebraska and Jane Crawford of Adel, Iowa, a brother in law Mike Crawford of New Market, Iowa besides other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church in Fairfield Bay on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 9:30 am Funeral Services will be at the Church at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Paul Strang officiating.

A funeral service will be held in Clarinda, Iowa at the Ritchie Funeral Home at 222 East Washington Street on Friday May 22, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.
