Statement by Senator Mark Pryor on Senator Robert Byrd

It was an honor to serve alongside Robert Byrd. He was a dedicated public servant deeply loyal to the Constitution and his state of West Virginia. Over his decades of leadership, Senator Byrd taught a dozen presidents and countless senators lessons in history, faith, purpose and Senate procedure. While his death leaves a void in the Senate today, this giant’s achievements and words will live on to provide future generations with context to many of our nation’s greatest debates and events.
