The contribution comes as part of a larger $60,000 donation to assist with volunteer fire departments in multiple counties.

“BHP Billiton’s support will ensure that our volunteer fire departments have the upgraded equipment required to respond to the needs of their communities,” Greg Carr, director of Cleburne County OEM.

The total $60,000 is being divided among five counties, including Cleburne, to assist with volunteer fire departments. The other benefiting areas are:

· Conway County

· Faulkner County

· Van Buren County

· White County

“We greatly respect the important responsibility that volunteer fire departments and the Office of Emergency Management have in helping the residents of Cleburne County during emergencies,” said Danny Games, external affairs manager at BHP Billiton. “We applaud their commitment of volunteer emergency responders and hope this donation will make their jobs easier in protecting our fellow Arkansans.”
