Harding University students serving Searcy and White County April 21

Harding University students, faculty and staff will participate in the Eighth Annual Day of Service Wednesday, April 21,in the city of Searcy and surrounding White County.

More than 2,000 Harding students will be working with people in the community on about 150 projects. The mission of the event is to have students live their faith in the community through a day of service.

“This event connects Harding students and faculty with people in our community to make a difference,” said Paige London, a student who serves on the committee for Bisons for Christ. “Every year, thousands of students alongside of local church members take an afternoon to impact the county for Christ. These acts of kindness are not just limited to this one-time effort but are often followed by continuing
ministry.”

From focus group meetings, students indicated their interest in developing stronger relationships through service. The slogan for Bisons for Christ for this year is: “One Purpose. One Body. One Love.”

The theme was chosen from Ephesians 4:12: “To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”

Most service projects will take place between 3 and 6 p.m. April 21.For more information, contact the Harding alumni office at 501-279-4276.
