Construction work on Interstate 49 in Bentonville and Rogers requires nighttime lane closures, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.
Beginning Friday night, October 13, crews will be performing asphalt mill and inlay operations on I-49. Northbound and southbound lanes will alternately be closed between U.S. Highway 62/102 (Exit 86) and Central Avenue/State Highway 72 (Exit 88). Weather permitting, these closures will occur between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Friday, October 13 through Tuesday, October 31.
Traffic will be controlled using barrels and flaggers. The public is advised to be cautious if traveling in this work zone and are encouraged to find alternative routes to avoid the interstate closure.
This project (Job CA0902) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 3.5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from Highway 62/102 to Highway 72 and includes constructing auxiliary lanes from Highway 62/102 toward Southeast Walton Boulevard.
