Registration for the 2015 Batesville Kiwanis Youth Football and Cheerleading League is set for three Saturdays in August: the 15th, 22nd, or 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Registration will be held at the former Game Day Sports facility, located at 152 Dry Kiln Rain, Batesville, AR. Football is open to those entering 3rd through 6th grades this fall. Cheerleading is open to those entering 1st through 6th grades. Both football players and cheerleaders need to be present at registration in order to be fitted for uniforms.
The 2015 participation fee is $75.00, which includes uniforms. Ability to pay is not a deterrent to playing in the league; please apply for grants at registration time or pay in installments. For cheerleaders, a two-day camp and the opportunity to cheer during the Kiwanis football season is also included. The camp will be held Sun., Sept. 20, and Sun., Sept. 27, 2:00-5:00 at West Magnet Elementary Gym. Cheerleaders will learn chants for games, a half-time dance, cheer jumps, squad stunts and sideline tumbling.
Kiwanis football season begins in early October and ends in mid November. Games are on Saturdays and Sundays at Pioneer Stadium. The football schedule will be available online at www.batesvillekiwanis.org/football.htm.
Anyone interested in being a cheer team coach in this year’s season, please contact Ronda Bryant at 870-612-2954. Coaches will be responsible for rotating with their cheer team at camp, making sure cheerleaders are ready to perform at games, calling practices as needed, and being the liaison between Kiwanis Cheer Directors and parents.
