Ozark Folk Center Craftsmen offer August Giveaways to Visitors

The master craftspeople at the Ozark Folk Center have come together to say “Thank You” to the fine folks who come to visit them. Starting Wednesday August 1, we will be giving away one handcrafted item to a person in the park each day. Every studio at this unique Arkansas State Park features a master Ozark craftsperson demonstrating and creating their fine and functional crafts in air-conditioned comfort. Crafts including wood turning; pottery; candle making; weaving; gunsmithing; leather work; basket making; quilting; broom tying; printing; painting; lampwork glass; scrimshaw; copper flame painting; wood carving and more. There are 24 studios in the Craft Village, open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Each day in August, the craftsmen will show their appreciation to the visitors by giving away one item worth approximately $25 to someone who is in the park that day. Items include a basket from Sharon Fernimen; jewelry from the Widmers; a handtied broom from Shawn Hoefer; a basket of handmade bath and body care from Linda Odom’s  Apothecary Shop; a gun cleaning and appraisal from Jim Purdom; flame painted copper from Skip and Rachel Mathews and much more. The item of the day will be on display in the shop where it was made, along with the basket for you to put your drawing tickets.
