Ozark Gateway Region has scheduled their first annual Golf Classic for October 17 at the Golf Course at Turkey Mountain in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Each year the event will rotate at a different golf course in the eight county Ozark Gateway region of north central Arkansas. This year’s first event will be a three person scramble at the Golf Course at Turkey Mountain. Refreshments and snacks will begin the morning at 8 a.m. with a shotgun tee time at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $120 per team plus a cart fee of $10 per player. Prize money will be determined by the number of entrants in the event. Proceeds from the tournament will go for promotion and marketing of the Ozark Gateway region to out-of-town potential visitors.

A silent auction will take place during the event with golf packages, overnight stays in the region and more worthwhile item. “Even if you don’t golf you will want to drop by the golf tournament to take part in the silent auction. Everyone loves a good silent auction and this one is sure to be a hit with individuals looking for interesting items,” said Cathy Drew, executive director of Ozark Gateway.

The 2015 Ozark Gateway Region Golf Classic main sponsors are First Community Bank, Flowers Baking Company, FNBC, Citizens Bank and Mark Martin Kia. Hole sponsors are still available for $200 each.
