Pryor Encourages Arkansans to Support Small Business Saturday

U.S. Senator Mark Pryor today encouraged Arkansans to shop at their favorite locally-owned small businesses this weekend in support of “Small Business Saturday.”

Pryor is a co-sponsor of the Senate-passed resolution that designates Saturday, November 24th as the 3rd annual Small Business Saturday.  Pryor hopes the resolution will encourage consumers to shop locally and will increase awareness about the impact and value of small businesses on Arkansas’s economy.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, accounting for nearly half of the private-sector workforce in Arkansas alone,” Pryor said. “That’s why I’d like to encourage Arkansans to participate in Small Businesses Saturday and support their local businesses that create jobs, boost our economy, and maintain communities throughout our state.”

During his time in the Senate, Pryor has made empowering small businesses one of his main objectives. As a member of the Senate’s Small Business Committee, Pryor is working to help entrepreneurs with financing options to start or expand a business, as well as providing small companies with new opportunities to export their goods or services abroad.
