Congratulations to Barrett Baber and Kenny Lamb, winners of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism’s Song of Arkansas contest. The duo were selected from our seven finalists as the best by fans. More than 34,000 votes were entered during the two week voting period. Barrett Baber will perform the song he co-wrote with songwriter Kenny Lamb on Monday, March 10th at the 40th Annual Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Rogers, and they will receive a recording session, a video and $2,000.

Our Song of Arkansas competition ran November 25th, 2013 through January 24th, 2014, offering a unique opportunity to Arkansas songwriters and musicians – the chance to share a great tune about our state. In all, 230 entries were received. Our panel of celebrity judges, including rock and roll pioneer Sonny Burgess, Broadway performer Lawrence Hamilton, award-winning Broadway musical director Jason Moore, Jimmy Buffett Coral Reefer Band member Mike Utley and The Wolf 105.1-FM morning show team Bob Robbins and Jennifer Trafford, narrowed the field down to seven finalists.
