Temporary Closure of Pedestrian/Biking Trail Near Interstate 49 in Bentonville

Construction to widen I-49 in Bentonville requires a section of the Arkansas Missouri Trail at the Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) to be temporarily closed, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) officials.
Beginning Monday, August 28 and continuing through Friday, September 1, construction work will require closing the trail between Phyllis Street and the NWACC campus. Advance warning signs and barricades will be in place to communicate the trail’s closure.

This project (Job CA0902) is part of AHTD’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 3.5 miles of I-49 to three lanes in each direction. The work extends from Highway 62/102 to Highway 72 and includes constructing auxiliary lanes from Highway 62/102 toward Southeast Walton Boulevard. More information on this $27.7 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
