The Arkansas State Highway Commission approves Bids in Cross, Newton, Searcy, Stone, Van Buren, White, Woodruff Counties

Approves Bid for Improvements in White County.
The purpose of this project is to resurface 4.2 miles of County Road 184 (Velvet Ridge Rd. at Bradford) starting at State Highway 87 and continuing westward. Atlas Asphalt, INC. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $440,942.11. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in late 2017.

Approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in White, Woodruff & Cross Counties.
The purpose of this project is to overlay 61.2 miles of roadway and 1.3 miles of bridge deck on U.S. Highway 64 from State Highway 367 to the Crittenden County line. Atlas Asphalt, INC. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $19,149,094.56. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2018.

Approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Searcy County.
The purpose of this project is to place pavement markings on selected sections of 29.1 miles of various County Roads in Searcy; to include: Campbell Rd., Cozahome Rd., Osbourne Rd., and Woolom Rd. Stripe-A-Zone, INC. of Grand Prairie, TX was awarded the contract at $83,428.08. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in late 2017.

Approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Newton & Searcy Counties.
The purpose of this project is to resurface 12.8 miles of U.S. Highway 65 between Western Grove and St. Joe. APAC-Central, INC. of Fayetteville was awarded the contract at $3,561,902.90. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is
expected in late 2017.

Approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Stone County.
The purpose of this project is to resurface selected sections of 1 mile of County Road 74 and 1 mile of County Road 12 near Big Spring. Atlas Asphalt, INC. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $302,128.40. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in late 2017.

Approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Van Buren & Stone Counties.
The purpose of this project is to resurface 0.5 miles of County Road 156 and 2.9 miles of County
Road 93 starting at State Highway 110 and continuing southward near Old Lexington.
Delta Asphalt of Arkansas, INC. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $330,196.80.
Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is
expected in mid-2017.
